British Hairdressing Awards Facts and Figures

The Miller Family comprising of Charlie, Jason and India are the most successful family in the British Hairdressing Awards, having won Scottish Hairdresser of the Year seven times, Avant Garde once and Newcomer of the Year twice. To add to this salon director Ian Blyth has also won Scottish Hairdresser of the Year.

Gary Hooker has not only won North Eastern Hairdresser of the Year three times, he has also won Crufts three times with his championship winning Great Danes.

Toni & Guy are the most successful Artistic Team wining the title 11 times.

Lisa Shepherd is the only person to be in the Hall of Fame twice – once for Midlands Hairdresser of the Year and the other for Schwarzkopf Professional Colour Technician of the Year.

Umberto Gianinni was the youngest person to ever win British Hairdresser of the Year.

Irvine & Rita Rusk have been the only duo ever to win British Hairdresser of the Year.

Antoinette Beenders is the female who has won the most awards in the most categories – British Hairdresser of the Year, Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year and London Hairdresser of the Year.

Trevor Sorbie is the male who has won the most awards in the most categories – British Hairdresser of the Year, Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year and London Hairdresser of the Year.

Eugene Souleiman has won the Session Hairdresser of the Year an amazing six times and he has also won Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year.

In 1985 Trevor Sorbie and Anthony Mascolo were both awarded London Hairdresser of the Year – the only time an award has been given jointly.

Six previous London Hairdressers of the Year have all gone on to win British Hairdresser of the Year – Trevor Sorbie, Anthony Mascolo, Charles Worthington, Nicky Clarke, Antoinette Beenders and Beverly C.
